Visit of the 53rd Session of the Belgian Customs School to the WCO Secretariat

23 May 2025

On May 16, 2025, the international trainees of the Belgian Customs School visited the headquarters of the World Customs Organization, where they exchanged views on topics related to trade facilitation and enforcement applications.

In addition to the comprehensive training provided by the 10-month programme at the Belgian Customs School, this group of French-speaking Customs officers from various administrations in  Eastern and Southern Africa (Comoros, Djibouti, and Rwanda) and West and Central Africa (Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Gabon, Niger, Republic of the Congo, and the Democratic Republic of Congo) had the opportunity to receive regular presentations on the WCO's key tools and instruments, as well as topical issues for African customs, such as capacity building, integrity, enforcement and compliance, intellectual property rights, and rules of origin, with a particular focus on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The WCO is pleased to contribute and bring an international dimension to the content delivered within the framework of this programme, a contribution it has been making for many years.
